This year, Matariki falls on Friday 28th June.
The event is now confirmed and will be held at the Auckland Chess
Centre, 17 Cromwell St, Mount Eden, Auckland.
Due to space restrictions, we can host a maximum of 64 players.
Late entries are now accepted with a fee of $100, until 26th June or the
event is full.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse entries at their discretion,
and to refuse to pair anyone who is clearly unwell.

Upset prizes were awarded to Brillion Yan Ju Lau (x2), Preeyansh Roul,
WCM Yolanda Chang, Daniel Wang, & Troy Matich.
The event will be a 6-round swiss, NZCF- and FIDE-rated where possible. The time control will be 90 minutes for all moves with an increment of 30 seconds per move from move 1. Non-NZL players must provide FIDE ID before the tournament begins.
A player may take a single half-point bye in any one of the first 5 rounds. Notice should be given before the start of the tournament.

The prizegiving will take place as soon as possible after the conclusion
of the last round.
Masks are strongly recommended. The FIDE requirement to shake hands will not be enforced. Food and drink should be consumed outside. The Chief Arbiter may refuse to pair anyone who is clearly unwell.
